Sarah has met Darren Criss

Today, Sarah tells us how she met Darren Criss, the Glee actor.

"Hello!

On December 9th, 2012, I met Darren Criss for the first time.

For those of you who don’t know, he is a singer/songwriter/musician and an actor, probably best known right now for his role on Glee as Blaine Anderson.

On December 9th, he was in New York City to play a free outdoor acoustic holiday concert to promote Toys for Tots. After the show, Darren walked across the street and into a hotel presumably to gather his things and do an interview before heading to the airport to fly back to L.A. My friend and I, as well as about ten others, waited outside on the sidewalk to wave to him as he headed out. We’d hoped he’d stop to take photos with us but we figured he was in a hurry to catch his plane so we thought he would probably just wave and say hello as he got in his car. We would have been fine with that.

But as it turned out, he DID end up stopping to take photos with all of us, after another fan asked him politely if he could. I can honestly say that Darren is one of the nicest, most humble people I’ve met. He really did not have to stop to take photos with us, but he did, and for that I’m incredibly grateful. He did ask that we take the photos quickly (he had a car waiting for him right outside the hotel) but he also made sure that everyone had gotten a photo with him before he left.

I also got the chance to have a quick one-on-one conversation with him, and a friend did too, so that was cool. He didn’t seem like a celebrity at all; it was like hanging out with a friend. He was really, really sweet to everyone. I’m honestly a bigger fan now that I’ve met him. It was a great experience and I really hope I get to meet him again in the future!!"

Odelia has met Darren Criss

Today, Odelia tells us how she met Darren Criss, the Glee actor.

"Hello,

It was two years ago, the summer of 2010. I had only been exposed to the wonderful awesomeness of the Starkid theatre company the previous summer, but naturally I had fallen in love with it in mere seconds. In early July, my sister told me that Darren Criss was having a concert at a small venue in Brooklyn. 

I knew the name, the face, the voice--but that was it. We had never heard any of his original music, so we spent an afternoon listen to his four songs on Soundcloud, trying to get a feel for his material. July 10th rolled around, and my sister was suddenly apprehensive about going to this concert; I was only 12 and she was just 14, and she was worried we would be too young to go by ourselves. 

She was so close to backing out that she didn't even bring her DSLR camera along, leaving my pixelated point-and-shoot the task of documenting this momentous event. We arrived nearly half an hour late, missing part of the opening act (Charlene Kaye, a singer who I ended up adoring and seeing several times in concert over the next two years), but getting there with plenty of time to hear Darren sing his personal songs, Starkid songs, and Disney songs. 

He messed up lyrics, switched songs halfway through one song, told jokes, told stories...he was just all around adorable. After the show ended, he said he would be signing autographs and taking pictures near the front. My sister and I immediately tried to push our way through the crowd to get to him (the "crowd" was considerably small due to the fact that Darren was not famous beyond the Internet yet), and waited for a quarter of an hour to meet this beautiful man. 

I took my sister's picture with him (a photo in which he made a silly face while she did not), and then she took my picture with him (in which he rested his head on my head and I didn't even mind how sweaty he was at all). 

He signed two autographs in my notebook: one in really big letters because it was a large page, and then one in very tiny letters as a joke. It was extremely cute. My sister and I said that he was totally awesome--an A Very Potter Musical reference--but I think he missed the joke. From that point on, I have been utterly obsessed with Darren Criss. Gotta love that kid."

Ashley has met Glee cast

Today, Ashley tells ushow she met Glee cast

"Hello,

May 16, 2011 was the day Fox was having their upfront. There I saw from far some of Glee cast. I had the opportunity to see some of the cast members but I had to wait until later to be able to take pictures with them.

During the week of April 25,2011 to April 29, 2011, Glee came to NYC to film the finale.

Day 1: At around 11am I went to go find Glee's filming location. The first cast member I saw was Corey Monteith. He got swarmed by 30 girls and I couldn't get a picture with him, but I got a great one of him.

He was taking a picture with another girl, and it was the best picture I got of him that day. I also saw Lea Michele pass by us, and she had a ton of guards walking with her.

Day 2: Glee filming in Central Park was a great day. We headed over back to the trailers where Kevin Mchale came out and started to sign autographs.

I was so glad that I got to take a picture with him and get an autograph. He was really a cool guy especially in about 83 degree weather. 

Then I saw Diana Agron and she was the sweetest person you could ever meet. She made sure to get everyone an autograph and picture to who ever wanted. I was glad when I got both.

Then I got to meet Heather Morris. What's really funny is that I kept calling her Heather Morrison and I didn't realize that I was doing that until Gaby told me. I could only get an autograph because she had to go.

Day 3: This day was a short day. They filmed inside of the Intercontinental hotel. There was word that Matthew Morrison would be the only one coming back to his trailer, I decided to head toward the trailers. As luck would have it Matthew Morrison came back to his trailer at 8:30pm. Then there were a few more fans coming over to the trailers. Then when he came out to get in his car, he stopped and took pictures with his fans.

He look exhausted but he was so cool about it. I'm glad I got a picture with him."

Mayra has met Grant Gustin (Glee)

"Hello,

During the EW Pre-Emmy Party I saw Grant Gustin from Glee walking towards me and my friend. 

As soon as I saw him I called his name and asked if I could take a picture with him. He looked at me with a big grind on his face and said of course. He was super nice to me and my friend who also got a picture.

After taking a picture with him I told him he did an awesome job on playing twins on CSI Miami. He thank me and then shook our hands and then he left. It was great meeting him."

I met Darren Criss at the Glee 3D movie premier. I think it was last year well. I got tickets to the premiere and when I was going inside the movie theater Darren was going inside at the same time as I so I asked him for a picture

Mayra has met Naya Rivera (Glee)

"Hello,

During the Alma Awards 2012, I spotted Naya with her Alam Award in her hand walking to her car. She was walking very quickly, I don't think she wanted anyone to see her. I jogged up behind her and called over her name when she turned around I asked if I could take a picture with her and she said sure.

After that I told her congrats for her win at Alma awards and she thank me and then got in the car."

Stephanie has met Harry Shum Jr (Glee)

Today, Stephanie tells us how she met Harry Shum Jr, the Glee actor.

"Hello,

Last April I found out that Harry Shum Jr. was going to be a special guest at This Week, a sketch comedy show about the week’s current events, at Second City in Hollywood. I immediately bought my tickets in advance. Great move because it sold out quickly. The performance was hilarious and Harry was brilliant.

It was a great opportunity to see Harry in action and in an intimate setting. I also wanted to give the Second City crew a shout out because they were very entertaining and had me laughing at all the sketches, especially Patricia Villetto. If you’re ever in Hollywood, you should totally check out a performance.

After the show, I was lucky enough to meet HSJ. He was extremely nice, huggable and all smiles. It was a quick hello and a snapped photo. He hung out a bit at the theatre and was kind enough to chat and take photos with some fans. My niece and I were also able to take our photo with Harry.

 Even though I had a bad hair day, at least it was a good day."
